October 2011 Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Darlene Samuel, Pres. at 9:10 am
New members were introduced: Tonyia Barnes, ink, acrylic, fabric,etc. and Susan Davey, acrylic and oil. Associates Patric Davey and Steve Ford.
The minutes and treasurers reports were passed as reported.
Correspondence: Thank you notes from Marianne Richardson and Heather Mitchel were received. Thank you notes were sent to John Anderson of Ollies and Jack Harrison of the DOT for their help with signage for ArtFest directions. Thank you note sent to Bill Donegan for the clotheline poles he made for the Children Art area by Darlene
Linda Wicker is keeping up to date of the web site but wants material from our artists.
Darlene thanked all for help for ArtFest and declared it a success with several people signed up for next year.
Sandi Lang handed out the Misc. book list for the library.
Patty Underwood is taking over Sunshine.
Art Challenge for Dec. is winter.
Teacher grant committee was formed with Tonyia chair and Patty and Dulce Snowman members. Marilyn Pough assistant to the school superintendent is the contact person.
Christmas Party is Dec.17 5pm at Patty Underwood's home. We will have a hand-made gift exchange.
Upcoming events: Greater Gulf Coast, Homemakers show, Hadji show, Harvest crafts at the Methodist Church on Chumukula, green-up cancer awareness show.
Jim Berry, Chris Bevins,Emeretta Rudy and Gloria Mullen were accepted ion the Interstate Fair's Art Exhibit.
Meeting was adjourned with Paula Knauber, Vicki and Steve Ford, Chris Bevins, Darlene Samuel, and Naita sharing art in Brag Time.
Danielle Engert conducted a Polymer clay class with participants creating owl pendants. |
