November 2011 Newsletter
I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful fall weather and having a chance to go to the local art shows that are happening around our area. I hope you all had a chance to come out to Art Fest this year. In spite of the road construction/destruction, we had a great turn out and the artists were happy. Many have expressed the desire come back and many want the same spots that they had this year. The children’s art section was impressive and it did me good to see that there is a lot of talented artists being nurtured in our schools. Let’s work harder to help these folks this year.
Our November meeting is the 26th and we are fortunate to have Ruth Goldsbourgh in our area to give a demonstration of her art work. Ruth is an award winning artist who hangs in many galleries and private collections including the Smithsonsian. She is amazing as is her daughter Lorraine Cathey. It will be a great experience for all.
It is going to be time for our Christmas party soon. Patti Underwood has graciously agreed to host it on December 17th at 5:00 p.m. We will have a gift exchange and in order to participate, it must be made by the artist. If you are bringing a gift for your spouse or significant other, you must have made that gift as well. We will play a game called musical gifts. It was played at my house last year.
Welcome to our new members: Susan Davey, Tonyia Barnes, and Steve Ford.
Bring a guest to our meetings and share SRAA with others!
